Stack
In 2001 newly established brand Pyra needed to kick start sales. Six designers were invited and asked to reinterpret and reimagine the traditional Windsor chair. The Windsor chair being such a well proven and durable construction I wanted to extend the concept to public spaces, designing a stacking version with all the features and characteristics needed in such environments.
To bring the concept to an even more modern context we used the latest CNC routing technology. The result was a chair that had the timeless qualities of the Windsor chair dressed in a contemporary suit.
